A quaint, family-owned marina for over 35 years
Long Beach Marina’s roots can be traced back to 1947, when employees started the tradition of writing their names and the years of the summers they worked on the boat house walls of the marina.
It’s a generational treasure. In 1988, the Minervino family purchased the marina, and from that moment on they made it their mission to keep its history alive by giving their visitors meaningful experiences that would become lifetime memories.
In 2000, Sam and his wife Jan purchased the marina from his parents. They continue to celebrate its rich history by welcoming boaters and vacationers alike to enjoy all that Sebago Lake has to offer, whether you’re looking for a place to moor your boat or rent a pontoon to cruise with family and friends.
For the Minervinos, it’s more than a business—
As Sam says, “It’s a lifestyle thing”
Sam has spent many summers on Sebago Lake and at Long Beach Marina. It felt like a second home for the Minervinos; before the marina there were summer weekends at Sebago State Park with his wife Jan, and children Lena and Rico. He bought his first boat at an early age and started learning the ins and outs of being on the water. So when Sam’s father Henry heard that the marina was being put up for sale in ‘88, he jumped at the opportunity to purchase it. Sam and Jan jumped with him.
When Sam and Jan took over the business in 2000, they knew they wanted to continue offering the same personalized service that people had come to expect from Long Beach Marina. They know their longtime customers by name, and welcome them back with a smile—year after year.
A classic marina with a modern touch
The Minervinos have worked to keep the original charm of Long Beach Marina intact while also modernizing their offerings to boaters and vacationers. Long Beach Marina still maintains the original dock that was built on the property, and regularly upgrades the infrastructure to ensure its use for years to come.
The marina offers moorings for visitors looking to keep their boats on the lake, complete with a convenient shuttle service and an easily accessible launch ramp. And for those looking to rent, the Minervinos are constantly maintaining and upgrading their rental fleet of pontoon boats so that customers can enjoy a relaxed rental experience.
For more than 35 years, the Minervinos have had the pleasure of welcoming boaters and vacationers to Sebago Lake with friendly, personalized service. Today, Sam and Jan hope to share their love of boating and the lake with everyone who stops by.
